Historically, people with disabilities have limited access to their communities and little choice and control over their lives. Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) waivers were developed to allow for community integration for people with disabilities. Community-based instruction (CBI) is a critical component of HCBS waivers. This training will provide direct support professionals (DSPs) with the information necessary to successfully provide community-based instruction.
