Webinar: Competitive Integrated Employment: If Not Now, When? If Not Us, Who?

The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the current status of competitive integrated employment for individual with the highest support needs with autism and review progress made but also why we continue to remain stuck in helping get significantly challenged people out of segregated setting and into real work for real pay, be it in community companies, self- employment or even partially remote working conditions. Throughout the talk we present instruction videos of individuals who are minimally verbal with autism in competitive employment to paid internships and the strategies used such as customized employment, supported employment, behavioral rehearsal, video modeling, and also a look into the future with artificial intelligence.
